Hole by Hole Summary çBack

Hole White Yards Par Yellow Yards SI Description Plan Red Yards  Par  SI
1 174 3 166 11 An opening par 3 that takes some thinking about.

A daunting tee shot with high trees lining the fairway. Your tee shot must be straight to stay out of trouble.

158 3 13
2 445 4 436 3 To follow the tough start the 2nd is a long par 4 that takes two good strikes.

A slight dog leg to the right, the tree and bunker will catch out the longer hitters.

426 5 7
3 524 5 519 5 Running along the bank of the River Mersey the 3rd hole requires length and accuracy to reach in regulation.

A hook is no shot to play down this hole.

The shot to the green plays longer than it looks with the 10m high bank in front.

455 5 1
4 157 3 152 9 To complete the difficult opening is this tricky par 3.

OB all up the left and a ditch on the left.  There is no obvious bail out area!

Straight or bust!

137 3 11
5 318 4 297 15 The first hole over the motorway provides the first opportunity to relax.

A open area for a relaxed drive, but don't be tempted with that driver.

Watch out for the out of bounds left on the shot to the green!

293 4 15
6 153 3 138 13 If you don't like bunkers, look away now!

Bunker short, left, right and trees long guard this short par 3.

122 3 17
7 384 4 377 7 Another hole to worry the hookers.  Keep your drive straight up the left of the fairway and as long as possible.

The shot to the green takes some bottle with OB all up the left - many bail out on the right, will you?

367 4 5
8 423 4 386 1 STROKE 1!

Take the biggest club you have on the 75 yard walk back to the tee.

If your drive is good you can see the green with your second the next question is can you reach?

Take into account the trees and deep rough on the left and rough on the right - go'on go for it!

347 4 3
9 476 5 462 17 If you have just birdied the 8th this should be easy!

A straight par 5 that is reachable in two for the bigger hitters.

But, OB on the left and two ponds left and right of the fairway can make this a card wrecking hole!

438 5 9
OUT 3054 35 2933       2743 36
10 372 4 362 6 TRADITIONAL IRONS ONLY!

The blind drive with an iron is tricky, but you should aim middle left of the fairway, too far right and you're in trouble.

Another iron to the green watching the OB right of the green.

336 4 5
11 201 3 182 8 Not for the faint hearted!

A big club to a split level green with trouble left and right.

The tee shot is narrow and the only shot is straight!

157 3 12
12 538 5 531 12 The longest hole on the course needs three accurate shots to the green.

The fairway slopes right on the drive so aim up the left.

Watch for the bunkers on your second shot.

The bigger hitters need a draw to get there in two.

521 5 2
13 328 4 313 16 Watch for the trees right of fairway as the tee pushes you this way.

Suits a gentle draw if you have one!

Two Deep Bunkers guard a short shot to the green.

283 4 18
14 437 4 427 2 It's not stroke 2 for nothing!

A big drive will leave you with a medium iron to the green.

But water near right - no chance long and a bunker and trees left may make you think of one putting!

414 5 14
15 399 4 389 4 Get that drive up fast because hitting that tree will probably cost you a shot!

If you can get to the top of the hill from the drive you'll have a big advantage with your shot over the next tree to the green.

347 4 4
16 343 4 338 14 If you can hit a draw then you can take on the corner with a driver.

If not you can hit to the corner leaving a short iron to the green.

Don't be long - there's no way back!

329 4 8
17 374 4 362 10 Decisions, Decisions!

The ditch is a 190 yard carry!

Yes you can get lucky and run through it but not often!

The best tee shot is up the left of the fairway to open up the green.

333 4 10
18 164 3 156 18 Ah, almost there, a simple shot to a unguarded green - but is your brain in the clubhouse?

You'll need to keep concentration when hitting to the narrow green.
